Fani Kayode cleared of money laundering charges by the court

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode have partially been cleared of money laundering charges brought against him by the government at a federal high court in Lagos.

Kayode was discharged of 38 out of 40 of #100m money laundry charged against him.
The court says Fani-Kayode now faces the remaining two charges and could stand defence for them.
The court adjourned till December 8.
At the resumed hearing,the defense council,Ifedayo Adedipe,a Senior Advocate of Nigeria,informed the court of a no case submission,filed on behalf of the former minister.
Festus Keyamo,the prosecutor, in response urged the court to uphold his written submissions in opposition to the no case submissions,while calling on the accused to enter his defence.

EFCC closed its case on July 10th, while defence council filed a no case submission on behalf of the accused on August 5.
Fani Kayode was alleged to have transacted with funds exceeding #500,000 without going through a financial institution.
He was also accused of accepting cash payments to the tune of about #100m both as a minister of Aviation and Culture and Tourism.
