Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker impeached

Adewale Omirin,Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly was today impeached by seven members of the house,alongside well armed policemen.


According to Saharareports,the Bayelsa-born police commander,Selenkere Michael was escorted into the State House of Assembly by seven members of the house to conduct the illegal act.


The police was said to have barred 19 others including the substantive speaker from entering the assembly complex.
Omirin and Governor Ayodele Fayose are said to have been at loggerheads since the swearing in of the governor.
Fayose is reportedly said to be accusing the speaker and all members of the All Progressives Congress of fustrating his administration by not approving the list of commissioners forwarded to them.


Meanwhile, the Ekiti State House of Assembly have denied impeaching the speaker,stating that it only appointed an acting speaker to take over the house proceeding in the absence of the speaker.
A PDP lawmaker,Dele Olugbemi was appointed the new acting speaker of the house.
