Three persons have been reportedly killed in a deadly cult clash in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State.

Our correspondent gathered that the clash was between two dominant cult groups; Aro and Bobo, in Aba South and some parts of Ugwunagbo local government area of the state respectively.

The killing of an Aro member who was simply identified as “Wonder Boy” in Aba South LGA, The Nation gathered, spiked the recent clash between the two cult groups, leading to the reported killing of about three persons in reprisal attacks.

It was gathered that the recent killing between the two cult groups is causing panic in the area.

A resident of the area who confirmed the killing of “Wonder Boy” by the rival cult said “we learnt that the recent spike in cult related killing in our area in Aba South and some parts of Ugwunagbo LGA was because of the killing of Wonder Boy.

"After the killing (of Wonder Boy), we learnt that the Aro cult members have been carrying reprisal attacks on the members of another cult group’ “Bobo.”

“On Sunday, while we were resting in front of our yard, we noticed that some boys who passed in front of our yard with machetes and guns were going on a revenge mission.

"Shortly after they passed, we learnt that the group killed someone believed to be a member of a rival cult group.

“We have been living with fear. Even though what is happening is not new to us, as it is not the first time a thing of such a manner is happening, we are however not too sure of what would happen next.

“The latest killing was at Agu road by Onyemaechi Street off Ohanku in Aba South LGA,” said the source.
