Hon. Obasi Daniel Ochuru, the Councillor Representing Ameke ward 1 at the Ohafia LGA 5th legislative Council has renovated the dilapidated and abandoned Abiriba motor park's revenue office.
The Councillor while handing over the project to the Local government Chairman said he was moved by the fact that the motor park which serves the entire community is located in his constituency and could not continue to watch travellers and workers at the park operate from such building which poses a threat to their lives.
The Chairman of the LGA, Dr Okorafor Ukiwe who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon Dimgba Ejieke, wùhile commissioning the project commended the Councillor for this thoughtfulness and love for his people which moved him to execute the project. He called on the revenue staff, the park operators and general public to make good use of the office and protect the property from vandals.
Responding on behalf of the Abiriba Travellers Express, the umbrella body of the Abiriba motorists, Chief Ogbonnaya Ndukwe thanked the Councillor and prayed God to bless and remember him even as he has done unto them.
Hon Paul Kalu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media, while commending the Ameke ward 1 councillor, used the opportunity to call on other councillors to toe the path of selfless service and to emulate their colleague who has decided to give back to his people who massively voted for him.
Among those present during the commissioning are Chief Agwu Iro, Chairman Abiriba Travellers Express, the Councillor Representing Ameke ward 2, Hon Onoh Egbe Osiri, councillors Representing Agboji ward, Hon Awosely Otisi, Amogudu ward 1 and 2 Council, Hon Victoria Akanu Chika and Hon Nmaju Ukaku, the Abiriba motor park Revenue Staff, the park executives and party members.
