NNEW to promote entrepreneurship among women and youth

NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women, (NNEW) has promised to promote entrepreneurship among women and youth in Nigeria through its forthcoming summit with the theme ‘the catalyst 2014’in Lagos.
NECA is Nigeria Employers' Consultative Association, and NNEW is its instrument to position and empower women in entrepreneurship. The NNEW President, Lola Okanlawon,on Thursday in a press conference in Lagos explained the coming conference. She said: “We are set to hold its (NNEW) maiden annual conference tagged “the Catalyst 2014’. The summit will promote and nurture entrepreneurship amongst women and will further promote entrepreneurship among women and youth in Nigeria.” She stated
According to her the objective of the summit would be to “re- orientate, inspire, teach and mentor female entrepreneurs on business strategies, techniques and values necessary for successful and sustainable enterprises.”
She added that the summit would include plenary sessions, syndicate sessions, panel discussion as well as networking sessions. She however announced that the Federal Government has made a whopping 60 percent allocation for the institution because of their immense contribution to the nation, “the contributions of women entrepreneur in nation building have had immense positive impact both on the nation’s economy and the society, as a whole so much that the Federal government has made a whopping 60% allocation of the recent CBN N250 billion Fund to financing the business of women entrepreneurs. In view of the above, NNEW is hosting aspiring, emerging and established women entrepreneurs at her maiden summit.” She sated.
Also the groups member, Modupe Oyekunle, in presenting the summit said the two days event will feature a gala night “the event will feature a gala night scheduled for the evening ofFriday, will be packed with all gifts and glam, light camera and action. It will be a time to meet new friends and business prospects in an atmosphere of laughter and camaraderie and also provide opportunities for possible collaborations and partnerships.
“There will also be opportunities for Mentorship, learning from gurus of the business industry themselves, sales exhibition and networking opportunities and conference Goody bags etc.” she sated
She explained further that the summit will bring about significant change to women that will help them to move to the next levels because it would be indeed a turning point for all.
