Heartland technical adviser, Kelechi Emeteole has thumbed up his charges for holding oriental rivals, Enyimba to a barren draw in Sunday’s Glo Premier League match day 29 tie at the Aba Township Stadium.

The barren draw means that the Naze Millionaires took off four points out of possible six from the Peoples Elephant in the ongoing 2013/14 Glo Premier League season having won the first fixture 1-0 in Owerri.

Emeteole said the encounter was a difficult game made worst by the wet pitch insisting that he is hugely satisfied with the hard earned road trip point at Enyimba.

“Yes, I’m satisfied with the goalless draw at Enyimba given the condition the hotly contested match was played.

“The pitch was wet as a result of downpour and it made it absolutely difficult for both sides to play their own style of the game.

“I’m happy that the players held on and squeezed a point off Enyimba, at least, four out of six points is quite a good result.

“Despite the poor pitch condition I think both sides lived up to the pre-match billing as a local derby.

“The goalless draw against Enyimba is certain to act as a morale and psychological boost to our next home game against leaders, Kano Pillars.

“We’ll quickly return home to work out a strategy that will ensure we grab a resounding victory against Pillars.

“We need every point we can lay hands on at the moment to further improve on our position on the league table,” said the former El Kanemi warriors head coach to supersport.com.

The hard earned points at Enyimba takes the Owerri-based outfit total earning to 41 points from possible 87 in the 29-week old Nigerian primary league.
