FG frees 32 prisoners in Edo

Thirty two prison inmates in Edo State  yesterday regained freedom.

The inmates were freed by the State Presidential Committee on Prisons Reforms and Decongestion

FCT Chief Judge and chairman of the committee, Justice Ishaq Bello, said the inmates could not pay their fines.

He said the fines would be paid by the Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Federal Ministry of Justice.

The inmates were also given transport fare to their various destinations; while some of them who had acquired skills  were also given funds to start businesses.
