IGP declares Afegbua, Babangida's spokesman wanted

The Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, has declared the spokesperson of former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida, Kassim Afegbua, wanted for the controversial statement he released on Sunday, February 4th.

 

Afegbua in the statement said the former president asked Nigerians to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. Although the former Military leader has come out to say he authorized Afegbua to release the said statement, the police in a statement released this night, declared Afegbua wanted ''for making false statement, injurious falsehood, defamation of character and for act capable of inciting public disturbance throughout the country''.

NIGERIA POLICE FORCE DECLARES KASHIM AFEGBUA WANTED

1. The Inspector General of Police has ordered the immediate arrest of
Kashim Afegbua for making false statements, injurious falsehood,
defamation of character and for act capable of Inciting PUBLIC
disturbance throughout the country.

2. He is therefore declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force and
should report at the nearest Police Station anywhere he is in the
country.
