INEC declares Obiano winner of Anambra guber

Governor Willie Obiano has been declared winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Returning Officer, Prof. Zana Akpagu made the declaration in  Awka on Sunday.

Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) defeated Thirty-six other candidates with a total vote of 234, 071. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tony Nwoye, came second with 98, 752 votes, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mr Oseloka Obaze, came third with 70,293 votes.

It was a landslide victory for Obiano as he swept the entire 21 LGAs in the state
