Fire Outbreak: Ikpeazu pledge to assist Victims

The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, on Wednesday 18th October, visited the scene of the recent fire incident in Ehere community along Ikot Ekpene road in Aba, where a petrol laden truck caught fire and destroyed over 25 shops.Ikot-ekpene road fire scene

The truck which was on its way to discharge petroleum products on Monday caught fire and destroyed goods and properties worth millions of Naira with no life lost.

The Governor who was received by the Youth Leader of Ehere community, Mr. Enyinnaya Lazarus, expressed his sympathy with those affected by the incident, promising to assist victims.

He said: “I share your pains with you in this tragic incident. While we thank God that nobody died, we may not be able to replace all you lost here, but we will surely assist those affected to return quickly back to business.”


In his remarks, Lazarus thanked the Governor for the visit and pledge to the over 25 victims of the inferno.
