President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has criticized ace musician, Charles Oputa also known as Charlyboy for taking his anti-Buhari protest to a market place.

Speaking in Abuja, Adesina said it was wrong to stage protest in a market place, stressing that ethnicity should not be introduced into such a campaign.

According to Adesina, “Taking a protest to the market in the first place was wrong, so whoever took the protest to the market place was the one that attempted to make it get out of hand.

“We are not for ethnic cleavages, we are for one Nigeria. Anybody that attempted to ethnicise protests failed, because everyone has a right to protest and ethnicity is not something that should be introduced to protest.”

The President’s spokesperson was reacting to the clash between pro-Buhari group and “Return or resign” group led by Charlyboy at Wuse market in Abuja.

Similarly, Adesina had earlier commended a Niger Delta group, Niger Delta Group for Peace and Development who drummed support for his principal.
