Arthur Eze, Anambra State-born billionaire businessman has apologised to Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, concerning a recent newspaper story in which he was reported as expressing a feeling of disgust towards Abia State leaders.

The report was said to have been made during the 23rd anniversary celebration of the creation of Abia State, which was held on August 27, 2014. The paper reported that Eze, one of the personalities that graced the occasion, was said to have been dissatisfied with the level of the state 23 years after.

But information reaching Factnewsonline revealed that the Ukpo-born business man, in a telephone conversation with Abia State Governor, apologised to the governor for the statement said to have been made by him, as well as misinformation dished out to Nigerians.

It would be recalled that during the celebration of the creation of Abia State, Arthur Eze was quoted on a national tabloid as having said that Abia State was in a state of disrepair. He was equally reported as having berated all elected officials of the state including Senators and House of Representatives members for the neglect of the state.

But a highly placed official in the administration of Abia State Governor told Factnewsonline that Eze refuted the reported insisting that he never made such a statement.

However, attempts to reach the business man to corroborate or deny the story did not materialise as at the time of filing this report.

“Right from the Abia Tower in Umuahia, the rot hits you,” the oil magnate continued. “Abia State is now the dirtiest in the country. Garbage everywhere, along with bad roads. The people are really suffering, and you see it in their faces. Are there no elders in Abia again? If so, what are they doing? What are the senators, the members of House of Representatives, and other elected people doing? Nothing.”

He said he was with the governor when Chief Arthur Eze called the governor apologising for the Sun Newspapers misrepresentation of his statement at Abia 23 anniversary.
