The President of Faith-Filled Christian Assembly, Joseph Etuk, has urged women to carry men along in church building by motivating their husbands to participate in the kingdom service. He said the men could be encouraged to do this by bringing out their resources, their mind and strength in service to the church.

Etuk, who is also the church’s General Overseer disclosed this on Sunday in an interview with Factnewsonline while marking the 14th Women’s Fellowship Day, celebration with the theme: Deborah of our Time. The event took place at the church’s auditorium, Fagba, Lagos.

Speaking on the theme, he encouraged women to demonstrate the good leadership of Deborah in their everyday lives, in their service to God’s church. He explained that women of our time should be more courageous, hard-working and bold as to what they were whatever thing they do.

Speaking concerning the present state of the nation, he said “Nigeria is passing through difficult times now but we must not relent, we must be strong and trust firmly on God and soon all this will be over and we will stand and standout . “

He continued “I want to assure you that it happens in every country, there must be some difficult time just as we are having today and as we also have in different homes and families so Nigeria will never be an exemption but we should have it in mind that God is with us and will make a way for us in no distant time. All he requires from us is absolute faith in him.”

For the dreaded disease Ebola, that has caused nightmares to millions of Nigerians he said: “Ebola is a disease, it will come and go just like there were Malaria, measles, Chicken pox in those days that killed so many people but today is gone. Ebola will come and go but all we need do is to hold on to God because when we do, all those sicknesses will come and go. For the people of God, it won’t come near us we will only hear of them like the Israelites in the land of Egypt”.

He however urged all eligible members of his church to go out en-mass for the voters’ registration exercise.

In her sermon, which was “Deborah of our time”, Lucy Udoudoh, who served as a woman Pastor of the day, encouraged women to follow the good leadership qualities of Deborah and not Jezebel. She said they would do this by being bold, committed, faithful, trustworthy, disciplined, courageous and fearless women, both in the church and the world at large.

She told the women that “Practice makes perfect, you find out that most of us cannot even stand in a public places to talk not to talk of reading, so I belief with this at all times we will grow to be bold and fearless.” She stated.

She added “learn to discipline and guild your mouth, know the type of words you use for your husbands at home, don’t be a nagging wife as this may make you lose them. Above all be a generous giver, give to the needy around you and remember the less privileged, I tell you God who sees in secret will reward you mightily.”
