Gambia's President-elect, Adama Barrow is alive and well

The President-elect of Gambia, Adama Barrow, has debunked rumours of his assassination, says he is alive and well.

A tweet by the Twitter handle @adama_barrow, suspected to be that of the President-elect, says: we would like to inform you that the President-elect is alive and well."

 

Additionally, Multiple sources in Gambia confirmed that Mr. Barrow is alive.

Jeffery Smith, a journalist with Vanguard Africa, confirmed that Mr. Barrow was alive.

 

Another Gambian journalist, Demba Kandeh, also confirmed same.

Mr. Barrow has remained in Gambia to ensure he is sworn in as president on January 19 after he defeated outgoing leader, Yahya Jammeh, in the December 1 election.
