Arm Forces Remembrance Day: 'You have our support' - Abia head of Service tells committee

Abia State Head of Service, Dr. VC Uma has assured the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day committee of the support of his office during this year’s emblem launching.


Dr. Uma who stated this when he received members of the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day committee led by commissioner for Women Affairs and social Welfare, Lady Chinedu Brown in his office, appreciated the dogged efforts of the Nigeria Legion and promised to write the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on the state of the Legion.        


Earlier in her presentation, the commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Chinedu Brown said they came to intimate the Head of Service on the activities of the Committee and solicited his support to see to the success of the emblem launch.
Also speaking, the chairman, Nigeria Legion, Abia State chapter, Colonel Sam Agbaja Rtd. Regretted that in the past, the armed forces emblem launch and Remembrance Day have not been celebrated with passion.
In her remarks the Permanent Secretary Ministry of women Affairs and Social Welfare Dr. Mrs.  Nnenna Chikezie thanked the State Head of service for the warm receptions he accorded them and expressed hope that all civil servants will have the emblem.
