The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, on Friday said he played host to his Abia State counterpart, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu because he (Ikpeazu) expressed interest in under studying the few projects his administration are embarking on especially the flyover bridges.

Gov Umahi who spoke to journalist at the Government House, Abakaliki, after conducting Abia state Governor round the three flyover bridges located in the heart of the town. Gov Umahi stated that Chief Ikpeazu plans to construct a flyover bridge along Obioma/Alaoji axis of Enugu-Portharcourt expressway to decongest traffic in the area which was why he visited to see if he could copy from the ongoing construction of flyover bridges in the state. He noted that the visit of Abia Governor showed he was committed to governance, adding that the project if achieved, would be a mile stone for the Eastern Nigeria. 

He said,” he came to look at the few things we doing. For example, he likes the flyover. So he wants to decongest traffic in that axis of Obioma/Alaoji axis of Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. And that’s very good. If he achieves that project, it will be a mile stone for our people”. Governor Umahi also disclosed he would visit Abia to see what could be copied from them by Ebonyi state Government.

 “I am also going to visit Abia state to see a number of numerous things he is doing in the state so that Ebonyi can copy some”, he concluded. He said that the current set of governors in the country were disposed to sharing ideas among themselves in order to develop their various states as according to him, they are differently talented.
