We Will Continue to Make You Proud ;Abia Students Assures Gov Ikpeazu

The students of Abia State origin who came tops at the recently organised Expo 2016 in Abuja has assured the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of their determination to make him proud throughout his tenure as Governor of the state in the education sector by ensuring they come out tops in all competitions across the nation and beyond.

Chukwuemeka Igwe of Dorithy International Schools,Aba who made the pledge on behalf of the students at a welcome reception organised for them at Government House, Umuahia said they have been encouraged by the governor to do more and promised to ensure they spur other students to greater heights.

They thanked the Governor for the warm reception and the opportunity to interact with him.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who noted that Abia's assets lies in her human intellect and ability said Abia has once again made a statement in the education sector in Nigeria.

He described the event as symbolic because the Champions, Dorithy International Schools, Aba has consistently produced top flying students and pupils and congratulated the teachers for their hardwork,patience and diligence in making the best out of the students.

The Governor revealed that the education sector would in the next two months witness a drastic change with the siting of model schools in the three senatorial zones of the state.

While encouraging the students to continue in their stead, Governor Ikpeazu promised assured that the state would take their research further for economic advancement of the state.

He equally announced scholarships to any Nigerian university for the students.

While Dorithy International Schools, Aba got #500,000 as first Runners Up, Divine International College and Victory International College got #200,000 and #300,000 respectively as Second and third runners up.
The teachers got #500,000, while the organisers, Nigerian Television Authority, got a total of #800,000.
