Abia State Police Command Goes Tough on Kidnapping and Criminality in the State

The Abia State Police Command, led by CP Adeleye Oyebade has reiterated it's commitment to raid Abia of kidnappers and criminals.

Speaking at the parade of some suspects ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery and child trafficking at the Police Headquarters in Umuahia, CP Adeleye Oyebade warned that the state won't be habitable for hoodlums especially kidnappers. 
CP Oyebade, condemned in its entirety the giving of ransom to kidnappers which he said encourages the hoodlums and said his administration would bring their activities to a stand still in the state.

According to him, the police on August 27, following a distress call from St. Paul's street's residents ,Umungasi, Aba engaged in a gunfire with some hoodlums where one Rowland Davidson Iweka was wounded and arrested but was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital. A pump action gun,rifle case,ladies handbags,phones,laptop and cash of twenty two thousand naira were recovered from the deceased.

The command also intercepted a Passat Car with Registration Number NKR 271 AA along Ugwunagbo axis at Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway who claimed to be members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps on their way to hijack a truck with Premium Motor Spirit. Investigation is ongoing.

One Ifeanyi Agbasonu and his wife were who operates a baby factory at No. 2 St. Bridges Rd,Aba were also arrested following a tip off. The case is also under investigation.

CP Oyebade further disclosed that some arms and ammunition and vehicles were recovered and a kidnap victim rescued and reunited with the family. 
He called on members of the public to always be at alert and give useful information to the Nigerian Police Force,Abia State Command to help them serve Abia better.
