EBOLA VIRUS: SAVING NIGERIANS FROM DANGER OF EXTINCTION

In the last one month, Nigerians have had to manage the traumatising effect of the awareness of Ebola disease, which ultimate result is in death of the victims. The awareness of this disease is not half as heartrending as realizing that in Nigeria for instance, given our communal mentality, just everybody had been marked for death.
Oganiru Ndi Igbo Foundation, appreciates what efforts the Federal Government has committed in sensitizing the Nigerian Public on the Ebola virus. We also commend State Governments for complimenting the Federal Government through establishment of isolation centers across Nigeria.
However, we are deeply worried that these centres while preventing the further spread of the disease appear to be a mock requiem for the victims who  cannot get the reprieve they need. They are constant reminders of the obvious state of their hopelessness.
You may have been inundated with embarrassing stories of how Nigerians took to salt and water therapy in a bid to prevent Ebola virus attack. As scandalous as that act is, it demonstrates hopelessness, culpable fear and loss of confidence in the fight against the dreaded Ebola virus.
We fear that worse scenarios may play out if urgent and definite steps are not taken to protect millions of Nigerians who may be facing danger of extinction.
We are aware that the American doctor who contracted this disease in Liberia is currently making steady progress, showing signs of full recovery as he is being administered with the experimental Zmapp drug by the American health workers in  America.
Whereas the Doctor in America is almost assured of being cured, there are at  the last count no less than 139 Nigerians beljeved to have contracted the ebola disease. By implication, 139 Nigerians may die of this disease in the coming weeks if the Nigerian government does not take delivery of the EXPERIMENTAL drugs.
We are worried. We feel guilty. We feel the pains of Nigerians. The impending number of deaths is alarming and would have far reaching traumatic effects.
We want to appeal to the federal government of Nigeria through the ministry of health,to expedite actions on acquiring the experimental drugs. it may not be enough to declare state of national emergency, we want to see these policies converted into actions. We want the lives of Nigerians saved. We want a decisive action that would halt the heightening gullibility and impending doom.
Please give Nigerians the Zmapp experimental drug. Ebola is threatening to wipe put Nigerians. Please save us!
