ADO EKITI— EKITI State Governor-elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to secure its office and the materials used during the June 21 gubernatorial election to avert alleged plans by unknown politicians to set the offices on fire.
He spoke through the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation, AFCO.

Reacting to allegation by the All Progressives Congress, APC,  that there were plans to burn the state INEC office, AFCO, in a statement by its Director General, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, said: “APC people should not be allowed to burn the INEC office in Ado-Ekiti the way they burnt down the INEC office in Ido/Osi Local Government during the 2009 re-run governorship election.

“INEC must, therefore, secure its offices and the materials used during the June 21 gubernatorial election to prevent APC’s plans to rubbish the results from succeeding.
“If they are saying that plans are being hatched to have ‘strange fire’ occurrence at the INEC office in Ado Ekiti and all the materials relating to the just concluded governorship election election will get burnt, security agencies must ask questions.

“This is more so that the APC spokesperson, Mr. Segun Dipe, who issued the statement, also knew that the fire incident would be blamed on some faulty power surge. He (Segun Dipe) must be made to give further details on the alleged plot.”
