The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Plateau State has said it would prosecute underage voters in the state.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Godwin Kwanga, at a stakeholder’s forum ahead of supplementary elections in the state for February 20th, noted that underage voting produced a lot of mutilated and voided votes at the April 11, 2015 general elections.

He decried a situation where the state experienced under age persons in possession of Permanent Voter cards.

Kwanga, warned that an underage voter caught during the forth coming elections in Quan Pan Local Government Area would be prosecuted accordingly.
