Court upholds Saraki's election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Wednesday upheld the election of the Senate President Bukola Saraki as the senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.
Saraki, who celebrated the victory via hisFacebook page, also pledged that the 8th Senate will be people oriented.
“Delighted to hear Court of Appeal upheld my election as Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District. Thank you for all your support & prayers. Rest assured that I’m committed to making sure the 8th Senate is people oriented,”
Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who contested for the same seat, had gone to the court to challenge the decision of the election petitions tribunal which affirmed the victory of Saraki in the March 28 National Assembly Election.
