Glo Ambassodors commend Governor Okezie on security and other improvements at Aba

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, this morning hosted Glo Ambassadors to a breakfast meeting after the hugely successful Glo "Slide and Bounce" event at Aba yesterday. The team which included members of staff of the telecommunication giant were at the Government Lodge at Aba to visit the Governor whom they described as one of them. 

 

In his address, popular comedian Okey Bakassi commended the Governor on the stable security situation in the state and Aba in particular that enabled the artistes to perform till early Sunday morning. He informed the Governor that following the huge success recorded at yesterday's event the management of Globacom have approved another event at Aba this yuletide season to further reward the loyalty of their teeming Abia subscribers who have been with them since inception. He applauded the Governor on other ongoing infrastructural renewal projects they noticed at Aba and predicted that Aba will soon be the number one entertainment destination in Nigeria.

 

Governor Okezie, in his response, commended the leading position of Globacom in the telecommunication industry and described the company as one "made in Nigeria company" worth showcasing to the world as truly homegrown. He called on the company to partner with his government to deliver global standard information and communication technology solutions that will improve the lives of Abians and residents. He also called on Globacom to consider sponsoring the annual Aba Marathon as well as take up full sponsorship and promotion of the repackaged annual Abia carnival in furtherance of the mutually beneficial relationship between the state and the telecommunication giant.

 

The Glo Ambassadors who performed at at the slide and bounce event at Aba include Flavour, Omawumi, MI, and Whizkid. Others on the delegation to the Governor include Okey Bakassi, Charles Anwurum, Victor Osuagwu and Globacom staff led by Celestine Amucha.
