AFTER several months of speculation, the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial district, Ayoade Adeseun has finally abandoned the platform, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) now All Progressives Congress (APC) upon which he won the senatorial election in 2011 and embraced the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeseun who started with the Alliance for Democracy (AD) defected to the PDP in 2003 under which he became House of Representatives member for two terms before rejoining the defunct ACN in 2011 under which he contested the senatorial election.
To authenticate his membership of the PDP, Adeseun registered at Baya Oje ward 1 in the Surulere Local Government area of the state, after which he addressed his supporters and said that he would collaborate with former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala to bring development to Ogbomoso.
He said: “It is true that I and Adebayo Alao-Akala fought each other in the last political dispensation and now we have resolved. We are very good friends and have realised that development can be achieved only when we close ranks,” he said.
He said that Alao-Akala would run for the governorship ticket of the PDP, likewise him, adding that they had both agreed to team up with whoever emerges among them and “I urge my teaming supporters to go out en masse and register for the PDP. I know by the time the campaign starts, Ajimobi will run from the heat.
“Ajimobi is not in the category of people who can govern the state, but he is only lucky to have attained the position cheaply. And we told him to use the position to better the lots of the masses but he refuses. So, that is why we are collaborating to re-invest positive change,” Adeseun said.
