Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Flags Off Development Of Abia Poly Second Campus

Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the management of Abia state Polytechnic Aba to provide his office with the actual fees paid by the students of the institution with the aim of slashing the tuition.
Dr. Ikpeazu stated this during the official flagging off of the development of the second campus of the school situated at Osisioma Ngwa along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway. 

 In his address, the Rector, Abia state Polytechnic, Aba, Prof. Eleazar Ikonne said Governor Ikpeazu has distinguished himself as an accomplished academia by initiating such education programmes as education for employment and adopt a school for the poor.
Prof. Ikonne said the school will be an ally of the present administration in the actualization of these programmes. He said Abia state Polytechnic has the potential in driving the developmental programmes of the Dr. Ikpeazu administration in the areas of fabrication and reestablishing the landmark survey of Aba urban city.
In order to tackle the high rate of male school drop-outs in the south-east zone, Prof. Ikonne informed the Governor that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund has agreed to partner with the school in the training of male school drop-outs in craftsmanship of various forms. He thanked the two host communities for donating their lands to the government and cooperating with the school.

While flagging off the development of the site, Governor Ikpeazu said the school will be the flagship institution that will drive the economy of the state in the years ahead. According to the number one citizen, Abia state Polytechnic will play a crucial role through the supply of medium level manpower as the government plans to build industrial clusters and embark on mass production of shoes and garments.

The second campus will house students hostel, lecture halls and workshops for the school of Engineering, bakery, water bottling factory, restaurant and guest house
