Senate Continues Screening of Ministerial nominees

The Senate today continued it's screening of ministerial nominees as sent in by the President

It was a stormy start as The Senate appeared determined to correct the impressions of the first day.
The first to be screened was the former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola  who spent almost an hour fielding questions from the senators ranging from the economy,security to repatriation of non indigenes from Lagos State during his stay as governor of the state.

Then came the technocrat, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National petroleum corporation, NNPC, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu from Delta State who lasted more than an hour answering questions on the nation's most valued sector, the petroleum sector. He touched the issues of local content production, private sector partnership, unbundling of the NNPC, gas flaring, among others.
Abubakar Malami from Kebbi State was next.

As with the custom of Senate, Senators Chris Ngige of Anambra State,  and Aisha AL Hassan of Tarawa State were asked to take a bow and go.
Solomon Dalong of Plateau State was next and he was grailed on diversification of the economy,awaiting trail victims, corruption, cattle rustling, insurgency among other issues.
On cattle rustling in the North East and North Central,Dalong said a master plan should be put in place,impunity of cattle rustlers tackled,adding that to achieve the Nigeria of our dream, love must be our watch word despite ethnic or religious differences.
He also advocated for merger of anti graft agencies.
