As most Nigerians were still celebrating the qualification of Nigeria's Super Eagles for the second round of the Football World Cup, Brazil 2014, news filtered concerning players revolt over unpaid bonuses culminating in players boycotting thursday training session with Coach Stephen Keshi. All major news agencies reported this seeming breakdown in camp discipline leading to the widely reported direct intervention of Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan to pacify the players.

Soccer lovers in Nigeria and Africa were worried especially as the Eagles have a date with the 2008 Champions, France, on monday. FactNews scrambled a team to find out the real state of affairs at the Eagles Camp. Our Reporter, Lauretta Onoh, managed a few minutes interview with Nigeria's central defender, Kenneth Omeruo and we present our readers the unedited exchange.

FACTNEWS: Tell us about yourself including family, place of birth and career

Omeruo:
My name is Kenneth Omeruo from Umuahia In Abia state Nigeria, Like you know already, I am a professional Footballer, Position: Defender.

FACTNEWS: Kindly share with our readers the issues on the players’ allowance and why they refused to train on Thursday.

Omeruo:
I really don’t want to talk about that, as I believe it is being handled by the right people now and it will be resolved. All I want to talk about is Football, If you have questions about football, I can answer those.

FACTNEWS: As Nigeria’s next match draws near, what is the current mood in the camp?

Omeruo:
We are optimistic and we will do our best. The mood is a happy mood, we are motivated and ready to take on France.

FACTNEWS: Beating Bosnia was key to your team’s qualification for the second round. What did you guys do that you didn't do against Iran and Argentina?

Omeruo:
Hmmmmm, well I think we just did our best, against Iran we got a draw that is not bad, considering the Iranian team in this world cup was a tough one to beat, they defended very well and was tough to break, against Bosnia we had Emenike and Osaze who were amazing and the whole team was fantastic, against Argentina, we were also good and Musa was Amazing , I think we were just unlucky to loose to Argentina because we did put up a good game against big names of the game like Messi, Aguero, DiMaria.

FACTNEWS; What should Nigerians expect in your match against France?

Omeruo;
Nigerians should expect our best as we hope to make Nigerians all over the world happy and proud.

FACTNEWS: How would you rate Stephen Keshi’s relationship with the Super Eagle’s team?

Omeruo;
Coach is a nice man, very disciplined, when its time to be serious and concentrate, he expects that from us. He relates well with me and I also think it is same with the whole team.

FACTNEWS: How far do you think the Eagles will go in this competition?

Omeruo:
Nobody thought we will get to this stage, but here we are, I think we will keep doing our best and hopefully beat France tomorrow. France is a good team but we are also a good team and have very good players that will put in their best for our Country.

FACTNEWS: Are you likely to break into Chelsea's first team after this world cup or will go out on loan?

Omeruo;
Hahahha I don’t know ohhh, that is up to the club. I will love to wear the blue jersey and make all Chelsea fans out there proud. I am hopeful as it will be an honor to play for the senior team of Chelsea. My contract was extended so am expecting the best.
I love Chelsea, I love the fans and I admire Mourinho as a coach, he is a very intelligent and nice coach.

FACTNEWS: What do you think about the insults hurled at your current club coach, Jose Mourinho, by Samuel Etoo? You are aware that he has called Mourinho "a fool" in the media atleast twice without any response from Mourinho.

Omeruo: Really ? did he ? I did not know ohhhh, oh well if he did, it’s a pity and don’t think its nice for players to call their former coaches bad names, young kids look up to us,you know.

FACTNEWS: Have you been receiving support and messages from your state government being the sole Abia born player in the national team?

Omeruo;
Hahaha I receive support from every body that loves the Nigerian super eagles team

FACTNEWS; Any message for your fans back in Nigeria?

Omeruo:
I love you all, thanks for your support, never give up on your dreams the sky will definitely be your starting point and please pray for us Super Eagles
