Tribunal Dismisses Petition against Leo Ogor's Election

Legal tussle over the 2015 House of Representative election for Isoko federal constituency of Delta State was Monday brought to an abrupt end as the Chairman of Panel 1, National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Justice L.M. Boufimi, dismissed the petition challenging the election of Hon Leo Ogor following the failure of the petitioner to appear to pursue his petition.

 

The petition was brought before the tribunal by Chief Magnus Daniel Oyovwe, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the election of Hon Leo Ogor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 election in respect of Isoko federal constituency of Delta State.

 

The election petition tribunal panel chairman said that the tribunal was left no option but to dismiss the petition as requested by counsels to the 1stand 3rd respondents in the case, the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which umpired the election.
