Police Promotes 346 Superintendents

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 346 Superintendents of Police, SP, to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police, CSP.
According to reports, the officers, who were decorated Monday at various command headquarters within the country, were urged to be good ambassadors of the force.
Among the promoted and decorated officers is the former officer-in-charge of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos State Police Command, Abba Kyari.
Kyari was said to be instrumental to the arrests of various armed robbers, kidnappers, sea pirates, human parts dealers and terrorists within Lagos and other parts of the country.
One of his well-reported achievements was the arrest of a notorious armed robber, Abiodun Ogunjobi, also known as Godogodo.
Godogodo was reputed to have killed over 50 policemen during his time.
Kyari was also said to have busted the gang of kidnappers who abducted the council chairman of Ejigbo and a serving judge at the Lagos High Court.
He also led his men to apprehend the gang of kidnappers who abducted the mother of fomer minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
