The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Solomon Arase, has given both officers and men of the Force thumbs up for what he described as their exceptional performance during the inauguration ceremonies at both the federal and state levels.

The commendation, the IGP noted, was due to the display of professional conduct by the Force during the inauguration ceremonies in Abuja and across the States in the country.

The IGP in a statement signed by the Force Spokesman, Emmmanuel Ojukwu, re-affirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to providing a peaceful, stable, orderly and secured environment for democracy and other socio-economic activities to thrive.

He, however, pledged that the Force will rededicate itself to the respect and protection of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, particularly as it relates to the observance and enforcement of the fundamental human rights of all, including the rights to freedom of expression, association, assembly, life, etc – without which democracy and democratic gains cannot be attained and enjoyed.
