The Federal Government of Nigeria has asked that the remains of the four Nigerians on Tuesday after being found guilty of drug offences be repatriated for proper burials.
The federal government while condemning the execution that disregarded global calls for leniency, expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased, adding that it has asked the Indonesian Government for the repatriation of the remains of the executed persons, to allow them to be accorded decent burial in their various communities.

It also used the opportunity to warn all Nigerians to desist from drug trafficking and other offences that attract maximum punishment in countries around the world, while stating that it is committed to engaging the Indonesian government and other countries regarding the conclusion of Prisoner Transfer Agreements and other bilateral means of safeguarding the interest and welfare of Nigerians.
Those executed are Messrs Martin Anderson, Okwudili Oyatanze, Jaminu Abashin and Sylvester Obiekwe, for drug-related offences.
