Ahead of the inauguration of the incoming government in Abia State on May 29,expectations are high among Abians, who have called on the new administration to reposition the state and also give a voice to the common man.

The governorship elections have come and gone with the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,Okezie Ikpeazu emerging as the winner;the new government will take off on May 29, 2015.
While indigenes of the state await the new government, many expect an inclusive government to serve the interest of the entire state.
factnewsonline took to the streets of Umuahia, the state capital to sample opinions.
A cross section of Abians say there should be a different approach to governance for the new administration to make meaningful impact.
They also called on the new government to take holistic measures to restructure the state, while demanding that employment be provided for the teeming youths.

In anticipation of the dividends of democracy, the task ahead for the incoming government seems enormous and will need the collaboration of the people.
As Abians have tabled their expectations of the new government, the fate of the state will rely on the fulfilment of promises made.
