Okezie Ikpeazu declared winner of Abia Governorship poll

PDP candidate in Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has been declared winner of Abia state governorship election by INEC. He polled 264,713 votes to defeat his nearest river Dr Alex Otti of APGA who polled 180,882.

The APC candidate Chief Nyerere polled 10,244 votes while the candidate of PPA Chief Chikwe Udensi received 4381 votes.

The declaration which was made by INEC governorship election returning officer, Prof Benjamin Ozumba, followed the collation and annoncement of results of the supplementary poll ordered by INEC due to the declaration of the the April 11th poll inconclusive.

The results announced by INEC from the LGAs where the supplementary polls held are as follows:

Elections did not hold at Umunneochi local government due to disturbances in the area. But because of the margin of victory of the PDP candidate the results were declared as the outcome wouldn't have been changed even if all the supplementary votes were received by the closest rival to Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
