Gov Orji Congratulates Col. Akobundu on his new appointment as Minister of State, Defence

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji has congratulated the former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South East Zone, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd) on his appointment as the new Minister of State, Defence by President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, the Governor who charged Col. Akobundu to be diligent and steadfast implored him to bring his wealth of experience both as a retired military officer and politician to bear on his new assignment.
Governor Orji who described Col. Akobundu's appointment as well deserved, thanked the President for the confidence he reposed in Col. Akobundu who according to him acquitted himself creditably as the PDP National Vice Chairman South East and in other assignments given to him in the past and assured the President that he will not disappoint him.
Governor Orji also thanked the Senate President, Senator David Mark and other members of the Senate for promptly clearing the appointee.
The Governor wished Col. Akobundu well in his new job as Minister of State, Defence and urged him to approach it with the same zeal and commitment he is noted for.
