The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega has cleared his procession for terminal leave before the expiration of his tenure in June and the 2015 general elections scheduled to begin on March 28, insisting that it is equivalent to dis-service to the country.
The INEC Boss, stated this at a town hall meeting, while emphasizing that he remains focused on the job at habd, noting that he was not under pressure to embark on terminal leave.
Prof Jega, who reassured that elections will hold in Nigeria on March 28 and April 11 as the security situation has significantly improved in the last weeks, maintained that the Permanent Voter Cards will be used at the elections

He promised that the outstanding 700,000 PVC's would be available a week before the presidential elections, adding that the call for the Permanent Voter Cards and the Card Reader be dropped is diversionary, revealing that the use of the PVC and the Card Reader will add value to the elections.
He however revealed that though the commission was ready before the election was postponed, thr rescheduling has afforded INEC time to improve on its plans.
