Traders at the New Umuahia Industrial Market endorse Okezie Ikpeazu for Governor

The entire traders doing business at the Umuahia Industrial Market have endorsed the candidature of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the Governorship of Abia State. 

The traders conveyed the endorsement during a solidarity rally organised in honour of Dr. Ikpeazu at the open arcade of the market on Saturday, March 7, 2015. 

In his welcome address, the President of the Umuahia Industrial Market ßAssociation, Chief Felix Nwaru informed Dr. Ikpeazu that the entire traders in the market had met and resolved to support him for the Governorship of Abia State. 

Chief Nwaru stated that as a result of the resolution to support Dr. Ikpeazu, no other Governorship Candidate had been allowed to campaign in the market despite repeated requests and attendant pressures. 

Also speaking at the event, a frontline stakeholder in the market, Chief Okey Onyemauwa noted that Dr. Ikpeazu was not in the market for campaign as there was no need for him to campaign since the traders had already adopted his cause as their own. 

In his speech, the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency elections, Chief Sam Onuigbo commended the traders for their support for PDP candidates and assured that working in synergy with Dr. Ikpeazu, when elected to the National Assembly, he would attract projects and opportunities that would improve the lot of traders in Umuahia.

In his speech, the PDP Governorship Candidate in Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu thanked the traders for the honour done him and promised not to dissapoint them when he gets into office. 

He described traders as key foot soldiers in his quest for the Governorship of Abia State and assured them of his commitment to work towards the creation of an enabling environment for trade and commerce to thrive in Abia State. 

Present at the event were key leaders of the Okezuo Abia Campaign Organisation.
