New Abia Commissioner of Police holds press briefing

In its determination to provide adequate security and safety of lives and property of Abians,the Nigeria Police Force Abia State command has maintained its strategies at ensuring a conducive environment.
At a press briefing organised by the force at the Officers Mess in Umuahia,the Abia State capital,the new Commissioner of Police,Habila Joshak who promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor noted that alot of achievements have been recorded by various divisions and formations within the period under review.
Some of the achievements include arrest of kidnappers/rescue of kidnapped victim, arrest of suspected notorious armed robber,arrest of suspected bank robbers, arrest of suspected child traffickers and murder.
CP Joshak noted that on February 18,2015, one Maduabuchi George conspired with Obinna Erondu to sell his one year,two months old son for the sum of #300,000. Following an alarm raised by his wife,the baby was traced and recovered,among other crimes.
Some of the items from the suspects include, iron bar, cash sum of #81,500.00, three ATM,handsets, locally made single barrel guns with cartridges,two motorcycles,generator, among others.
The CP reassured Abians that the measures will not be relaxed but improved upon to ensure a peaceful Abia.
