People's Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State today flagged off its campaigns for the 2015 general elections at all levels at the Oghara Township stadium in Ethiope West Local Government Area.

The town was filled up while vehicular movement making it difficult for motorists even on the Warri/Benin Expressway as Deltans, especially Party faithfuls gathered to show support to the governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.

Factnewsonline reliably gathered that the decision to flag off from Oghara instead of Asaba the State capital or Warri the alternate capital, was advised by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan. It is said that flagging off the campaign in Oghara which is the hometown of former Governor James Ibori, who even though in prison, is still celebrated as the father of Delta politics, will amount to paying obeisance to him.

Senator Ifeanyi Okowa from Delta North senatorial district is also believed to be Chief James Ibori's candidate, backed by ex-militant, Chief Government Ekpemukolo aka Tompolo during the party's primary of December 8, 2014.

State House of Assembly candidates including Chief Ibori's daughter, Erhiatake Ibori, was to be handed the PDP flags today.
