Australian Muslim community has condemned the hostage-taking at the Lindt Chocolate Café, describing it as a “criminal act”. The hostage-taker who calls himself “the Brother” claims to have planted two bombs inside the café, and two others in different streets in the city. But Police have not been able to confirm his claims about the bombs planted. So far there is no sign that any of the hostages has been harmed.

Instructively, few weeks ago, ISIL had charged radical Muslims in Australia to get to the streets grab citizens and behead them.

Meanwhile “The Brother” has allowed the hostages to use their phones to post things on the social media.

The café, which is situated at the city’s busy Central business district, is in the same location with United States Consul, State Parliament and Parliament of New South Wales, as well as hosts headquarters of some major banks and prominent media institutions.

Now, it is instructive to remember that last year, Wednesday, January 4, former Prime Minister of the country, Julia Gillard came hard on Muslims that were demanding that Sharia Law be implemented in the country. She told them to exit the country if they were not comfortable with Australian culture and way of life.

Her words: “Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.”

She said Australians were ready to accept them and their beliefs, and would not question it. “All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us” she added.

Gillard said they begged to dwell in the country, but that if they were no longer comfortable living in it that they could leave. “This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

“If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.”
