Abia State government to ensure release of the abducted Nation Newspaper correspondent

Abia State government has reassured of the speedy release of abducted nation newspaper correspondent Ugochukwu Ugorji Eke,who was abducted by unknown gunman at his Ogbor Hill residence on Sunday by 7.30pm.


Commissioner for Petroleum and alternate Commissioner for Information,Chief Don Ubani,while briefing newsmen at the government house Umuahia,who lamented why the journalist should be the target of the abductors,revealed that the state government has made the necessary contacts with security agencies to ensure the speedy release of Mr. Ugorji.


He noted that the state has also made contacts with the family of the journalist,while warning criminals in the state to desist from their acts as culprits will be severly punished.
Chief Press Secretary to the state government, Charles Ajunwa speaking on the kidnap revealed that the kidnappers who forced Mr. Ugorji out of his car at his residence are demanding for #200m for his release..
