Chibok recaptured by Nigerian troops

The town of Chibok,which was taken over by insurgents on friday November 15, have been recaptured by Nigerian troops.


Chibok is the town where over 200 girls were abducted on April 15,which has attracted international attention.
The Director of Army Public Relations,Brig.General Olajide Laleye, confirmed the recapturing of the town via a text message to the press on Sunday.


Laleye noted that the town was reclaimed on Saturday after a combined aerial and ground assault against the insurgents.
Also,in a twitter message, the Defence Headquarters said"terrorist who attacked chibok have been effectively flushed out. Subsequent Mop is still ongoing".
