His Majesty will take centre stage at Akahaba Stadium Abiriba on tuesday to confer various awards to the following female achievers of Abiriba and Igbo origin;

The event which will start at 12 noon will be chaired by Eze Ogo (Dr) Anagha Ezikpe (nwa ndem of Abiriba) while Chief Ude Oko Chukwu (Speaker Abia House of Assembly) will be the Special Guest of Honor.

The event organized this year by the Prof Anya O. Anya led coronation anniversary committee will feature different cultural displays, traditional and christian music as well the customary women's trek to Aba mkpughuru. The trek is done in commemoration of the events of 23-25th  of November 1992 when Abiriba women in their thousands left their sleeping husbands and children and trekked from Abiriba to Umuahia (about 40kms) to meet with the then Governor of Abia State, Dr Ogbonnaya Onuh, to demand that the raging internal crisis be ended forthwith. The trek was led by the Queen, “HRH”, Nnem Uwaezughoke Imeri a.k.a. Mgbo Jumbo and featured Abiriba women of various ages with many above 80 years. The women refused to return to Abiriba until all their warring husbands and sons come to Umuahia and endorsed a peace pact and vow never to fight each other again.

The women who left Abiriba in the early hours of 23rd November returned to Abiriba on 25th November as heroines after the peace pact was signed and handed over to the uke ji agbala (traditional enforcers of rules) in Abiriba. When they arrived the Ancient Kingdom of Abiriba that day, the Enachioken of Abiriba endorsed a rule setting aside the 25th November of every year as "Abiriba Women's Day".

It is against this historical background that the Ancient Kingdom is honoring some of the leaders of those women and others who have contributed in one way or another to uplift womanhood at Abiriba and Igbo land. All children of Ukpaghari nde nikwam ifem bu uka are advised to arrive early for the events with their friends and well wishers as well as prepare special gifts for their mothers and sisters.

The 14th Coronation anniversary will continue with "Enachioken Youth Carnival and Party" on the evening of 20th December 2014. The event will feature Abiriba youths in their various carnival costumes and an all night party at Central stadium that will feature invited guest artistes and Abiriba born musicians. The next day, 21st December, all roads lead to the Palace of the Enachioken at Ndi Ogogo where His Royal Majesty will confer Chieftaincy titles on deserving Abiriba men from all works of life who have distinguished themselves and used their abilities to promote peace and development at the Ancient Kingdom.

If you are a lover of culture, make sure you are at Abiriba from the morning of 20th December when Erinma Age Grade members will emerge from the thick forests of Abiriba to commence celebration of their Igwa Mang celebration. A mini version was held in Lagos today and Aba is loading.
